This week's virtual concert features several innovative performances of Nicholas Kitchen. First, you see Nicholas and his wife, Yeesun, anchor the performance of movements II and IV of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.  Next comes some “checkerboard chamber music,” in which Nicholas plays all three parts — 1st violin, 2nd violin, and viola — of a movement from Dvorak’s Terzetto.  Unlike anything you’ve probably heard before, the featured work this week is the wonderful 20 minute Concerto for Violin and Percussion Orchestra by Kati Agócs. Our virtual concert this week concludes with a piece which Nicholas and Yeesun have performed at St. Stephen’s, the last movement of Martinu’s Duo No. 1.
