This summer 100 string students from 4 continents, 15 countries, and 22 states, took part in the virtual six week program of the Heifetz International Music Institute. Instead of assembling in Staunton, VA, as students had done a year earlier, the students remained at home. In this week’s virtual concert, titled “Stars of Tomorrow,” you will see and hear 8 students — 4 cellists, 3 violinists, and 1 violist — collaborate with pianists. The concert was initially streamed to a subscription audience, but was recently made available for everyone.
