This week's virtual concert features Andrew Tyson performing Chopin. First comes a performance of Chopin’s beautiful Barcarolle. After that comes Andrew’s Gala Recital at Leeds which consists of the three Mazurkas belonging to Op. 30, followed by four Preludes from Op. 28 — the Preludes in E minor, A major, D-flat major, and D minor. The 24 Preludes of Op. 28 (one in each of the major and minor keys) appeared on Andrew’s debut recitals in New York and Washington. They also appeared on his first commercial recording. Chopin’s Heroic Polonaise brings the concert to a close. Could there be a better ending?
