This week we present for your listening pleasure and sheer astonishment a virtual piano recital by Alexander Beyer. Dorothy and I first heard Alex play during the summer of 2013 at the Taos School of Music, where the Borromeo Quartet has been on the faculty for many years. Alex, then 19, was one of the 19 students taking part in the school’s 8 week chamber music program. We heard Alex and two other students perform the Ravel Piano Trio and were so impressed that we invited Alex to play the work at St. Stephen’s with our son and daughter-in-law, violinist Nicholas Kitchen and cellist Yeesun Kim.
