This week Ray Chen is back with us. First come three five minute pieces. The first piece comes from an album which Ray recorded in his apartment last summer. It is the fourth movement from Bach’s Sonata No. 2 in A minor for solo violin. Next he is joined by pianist Julio Elizalde for a tango-inspired piece by Eduardo Rovira and arranged by the performers, A Evaristo Carriego. The third piece is Fritz Kreisler’s Tambourin Chinois, where Ray is joined by the Amsterdam Sinfonietta. The virtual recital concludes with Ray performing the Violin Concerto No. 1 in F-sharp minor by Henryk Wieniawski. Accompanying him is the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, conducted by Cristian Măcelaru.
