“Not your grandmother’s organist” is the way the Wall Street Journal once described Cameron Carpenter, who begins our July 4th celebration by playing “The Stars and Stripes Forever” on the organ at Trinity Church Wall Street. During the trio section of the piece you will see Cameron play the piccolo part with his feet! Among organists his facility on the pedal board has no equal. When he performed at St. Stephen’s, he wore a sleeveless tank top, tightly fitting leather jeans, and ruby red shoes.
