The virtual concert this week featured a concert which was first aired on July 27 by the Heifetz International Music Institute. It has a remarkably long title: Heifetz Rubato: The Beethoven Experience V: B.A.C.H.D.N.A.: Beethoven’s Love of Bach — Examined and Expressed. In true Heifetz style it begins with a spoken introduction, given by Nicholas Kitchen, the Artistic Director of the Institute. After that the Borromeo Quartet performs two of Beethoven’s string quartets, Op. 18, No. 3, the first quartet which Beethoven composed, and Op. 59, No. 3, the third Razumovsky quartet.
