This week’s featured artist is again violinist Ray Chen, who was born in Taiwan, but grew up in Brisbane, Australia. Here is his powerful and beautifully photographed performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Gothenburg Symphony, conducted by Maestro Kent Nagano. Next is part of the slow movement of Vivaldi’s “Winter” Concerto as Ray serenades a couple of horses. Finally, we hear the sad story of “Waltzing Matilda”, first as sung by Slim Dusty in a YouTube video, and then by Ray Chen with his violin.
