This week we feature the morning recital of organist Nathan Laube from July 2, 2015, which he gave in Abbey Chapel at Mount Holyoke College on the Fisk Organ. Op. 84. Housed in two beautiful cases, the two manual tracker instrument is modeled after early Italian and German instruments. To manage the stops (some of which are behind the organist!) Mr. Laube has two assistants. Here is more information about the organ, including a complete stop list.
Mr. Laube’s recital consists of five works by 17th century composers. These works are well suited to the design of this organ that is based on 17th century tonal design and tuning.
